“The obstacles of our past can become the gateways that lead to new beginnings.”
This site presents the work of Baltimore artist, Justin Chase.
After overcoming the use of drugs and alcohol throughout his teenage years and living in a neglected urban environment, Justin has taken control of his life as a young adult, assuming responsibility for creating a better situation for himself and his family. While his story is inspiring, Justin has only started his journey. He has goals, dreams and, most importantly, hope for a better future. Justin is a “work in progress”, having not yet accomplished his objectives, but with his compassionate heart and unlimited potential, it is only a matter of time. When talking to Justin, I am impressed that he is incredibly selfless and, despite his own challenges and circumstances, often speaks of his strong desire to find some way to help others.
Your interest in Justin’s work is greatly appreciated. Please see About Urban Art, Justin’s Story and view his Portfolio – tabs at the top of this page – to see examples of his work (more to come soon). Justin has developed a style of drawing that is authentic and rooted in his personal experiences in Baltimore. The character of his drawings is recognizably his own.
I hope you will be as inspired as I am by Justin’s story and will appreciate the meaning behind his work. Please forward the link to this site to anyone you think might be interested to read about Justin and the challenges in his life that have shaped his perspective as an artist.
